Minus Red is an artist film studio. Our name is homage to nonviolence and the belief that stories can foster a greater understanding of what it means to be human, and more human.

Nonviolence resists and often overcomes evil without using evil in return. Historically, it is a global movement for peace based on equality. Yet its origins are much more humble, for it begins as a lifestyle choice.

Films promise adventure, but they can also offer a space — a space in which the audience can see the other, and in which their human longings are validated. When a film provides a cathartic experience, then audience members feel they are not alone in their questions and concerns. We are a team and fellowship that enjoys creating that space.
